Red peony buds they flowered where
The blood of my blood flows freely.
Through the salt of the earth to the waters
Of The Aegean Sea - it was flowing.
In this big bad world
I found a place in the sun. x3
Into the arms of innocence,
Nothing made sense, no not at all,
But I was given the chance, so I’d try hard to be
What I needed to be to keep my blood flowing.
In this big bad world
I found a place in the sun. x3
But it feels like I’ve left something behind.
And this seems like somebody else’s life.
When I look around I start to realize
I’m just another sign of the times.
Red peony buds they’re rooted up,
By the concrete walls of a Marriott
And the emptiness of modern pop,
Maybe all that I’ve got is here with me.
